We offer complimentary initial consultations to understand your child's developmental background, interests, individual needs, and target areas of concern. During this phone conversation, we will discuss evaluation and therapy options and provide educational information. If your child has been assessed by a speech therapist within the past six months, please let us know.
Based on the initial consultation, our speech therapist will recommend the best course of action. A comprehensive speech evaluation may include:
We allocate two hours for the evaluation visit. At the end of the visit, the speech therapist will discuss the findings and recommend further options, such as therapy or home programming. If your child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), we can incorporate it into our evaluation and treatment plan.
If a speech/language need is identified during the evaluation, we will recommend in-home speech therapy. Our evidence-based, play-focused therapy is conducted in your child's natural environment, either at home or in a daycare setting. Each session is tailored to your child's specific needs, interests, and learning style.
Each speech therapy session begins with a discussion of any questions, concerns, and progress from the previous session. The majority of the session focuses on targeted speech therapy, followed by a review of therapy techniques, ways to integrate speech therapy into daily routines, and addressing any questions you may have. At the end of each visit, parents/caregivers will receive home programming to support the skills practiced during the session. Parent/caregiver involvement is encouraged and welcomed.
We address difficulties in producing speech sounds (consonants & vowels), including Apraxia and Phonological therapy if needed.
We help children who have difficulty using language to express wants, needs, and participate in conversations.
We support children struggling to understand language.
We treat frequent and significant problems with normal fluency and the flow of speech.
We assist with feeding issues such as sucking, eating from a spoon, chewing, or drinking from a cup, and swallowing difficulties, including moving food or liquid from the mouth to the stomach.
We improve verbal (spoken language) and non-verbal (gestures, body language, facial expressions) communication skills for appropriate social interactions.
